VFW at PIT Homeless Count

NEW HAVEN, CONN. (Jan. 24, 2017) — Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars New Haven Post 12150 participated in the 2017 Point-In-Time (PIT) Count of the region’s homeless in New Haven.

On the cold and rainy winter night, the four veterans canvassed parts of western and central New Haven including sections of Edgewood Park as members of Team 4. They walked and drove around the designated Westville, Edgewood, and Dwight neighborhoods, administering the PIT “Street Count” survey to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

The Point-In-Time count provides needed data for federal and state funding used to house and maintain stable housing for the region’s homeless population.
