VFW NEW HAVEN INVITES ALL MEMBERS TO MARCH IN 2016 GREATER NEW HAVEN ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

NEW HAVEN, CONN (March 6, 2016)–All members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Auxiliary in good standing are invited to proudly march with the VFW New Haven Post 12150 in the 2016 Greater New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Scheduled for Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 1:30 p.m., the parade is the sixth oldest in the United States and the largest, single-day spectator event in Connecticut.

VFW New Haven post leadership will check in with the Division Marshal no later than 12:30 p.m. at the designated staging area near Chapel Street and Sherman Avenue in New Haven. Parade day details (parking, transportation, directions), including parade orders, are published online (http://stpatricksdayparade.org/parade-day/).

The suggested uniform is VFW Blue and Gray with VFW Cap (blue blazer, gray slacks). The standard uniform is respectable, parade appropriate, patriotic or veteran associated clothing that would proudly reflect on the VFW and the VFW New Haven. Dress warmly.

The order of march is the VFW New Haven Banner, B&G section, and patriot section. The parade is a community parade; it is not on a national or state holiday, or a patriotic or military parade, so please do not wear military dress uniforms (Army Regulation 670-1, 23-4).
Lastly, anyone visibly intoxicated will be asked not to march with us. Pickett is the POC.
