NEW HAVEN, CONN. (March 14, 2016)–The Greater New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade committee has named the Veterans of Foreign Wars New Haven Post 12150 the Best Senior Military Unit in the 2016 parade.
Post Commander Charles Pickett said it was quite an honor to be recognized, especially since it was the post’s first parade ever. “The post formed just last June,” Pickett said, “but the members have been talking about the parade since our first meeting. It was definitely the largest parade I have ever been in and may have been the first parade for some of our Post-9/11 veterans.”
A ceremony honoring all parade winners will be April 15, 2016 at the Knights of St. Patrick’s in New Haven.
