World War I Monument Re-Dedication

06May2023 @ 1230 - 1400 EDT

Rededication ceremony of the World War Memorial Flagpole on the Green by the Committee of the Proprietors of the Common and Undivided Lands in New Haven, marking the completion of extensive renovations. Featuring the Second Company Governor’s Foot Guard (2GFG), Ruth Rosa singing the National Anthem, and a wreath laying ceremony.

Speakers include:

  • Frank Alvarado, Chairman, New Haven Mayor’s Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee
  • Christine Pittsley, Special Projects Director, Connecticut State Library

  • Lieutenant Colonel Steven MacSweeney, President, 102nd Infantry Regiment Association

Ceremony followed by the “Wake Up the Green” procession with the James Hillhouse High School Marching Band.
