2019 Youth & Education Awards Announced

NEW HAVEN, CONN. (Nov. 15, 2019)–The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States New Haven Post 12150 Incorporated has announced their 2019 Youth & Education contest winners.

Brianna K. Lane of The Sound School Regional Vocational Aquaculture Center in New Haven won the Voice of Democracy audio-essay contest on “What Makes America Great.” Lane is a two-time post winner and competed at the state level last year, winning the VFW District 2 contest.

Anna V. Clark of Dag Hammarskjöld Middle School in Wallingford took first place in the Patriot’s Pen essay contest on “What Makes America Great.”

Charles M. Pickett of the The Sound School Regional Vocational Aquaculture Center  in New Haven took the Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher of the Year award.
